Cosmetic Acupuncture, or Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, is an alternative to Botox and cosmetic surgery. Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is used for wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, puffiness, under eye circles, acne, scars, and skin discoloration.   Cosmetic acupuncture is also used to lift and firm the décolletage area, tighten the throat, and improve contouring.  It works by toning muscles, stimulating collagen and elastin production, increasing circulation, moving lymphatic fluids, and tightening skin without the use of chemicals or surgery.  And although the effects of cosmetic acupuncture are much more subtle and cumulative than injections or a surgical procedure, people will notice that your skin looks healthy, radiant, and firm.

Acupuncture is a holistic medicine that addresses the whole person.  This means that acupuncture will treat your external appearance while also addressing the internal underlying causes of the cosmetic issues.  For instance, if an individual has dry skin and deep wrinkle lines in the forehead and eyes, facial rejuvenation acupuncture will address the cause of the dry skin while progressively reducing the facial lines over the treatment course.  Cosmetic acupuncturists may incorporate dietary counseling, herbal and supplement therapy, as well as lifestyle modifications for long-term maintenance.

Depending on your specific needs, an All and One cosmetic acupuncture treatment may involve body acupuncture needling, facial acupuncture needles, facial or body cupping therapy, or electrical stimulation. Since the effects of cosmetic acupuncture accumulate over several treatments, it is advisable to plan on ten to twelve weekly or bi-weekly 90 minute treatments.  You can expect to see changes to your skin in five or six treatments.  After one full treatment course, your acupuncturist will then discuss a post-care maintenance routine, which may involve occasional “tune-up” treatments and self care at home.
